Today we are talking to Dr. Scott Hutchins, United States Department of Agriculture Deputy Under Secretary. Dr. Hutchins leads the USDA's mission area of advancing agricultural research, extension, and education. He recently visited onsite with the University of Kentucky and Kentucky State University to discuss the USDA's science blueprint and the USDA's university partnership opportunities. And He was kind enough to meet with us during his tour.

Today we are talking to Dr. Craig Carter and Dr. Uneeda Bryant. They are going to give us a tour of the University of Kentucky Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory. The UKVDL strives to be the leading veterinary diagnostic service, research and teaching laboratory in the United States through the application of peer-reviewed, validated scientific methodology and quality control systems. The UKVDL idevelops andante applies state-of-the-art diagnostic methodology to improve animal health and marketability, to protect the public health and to assist in the preservation of the human-animal bond through the principles of One Health.

MANRRS has grown into a national society serving over 40 different academic institutions nationwide and is a vibrant assembly of students and professionals from all racial, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
